"In the autumn of 1993 with early retirement imminent, having owned a full size steam vehicle for 27 years, a change of life dictated I should try my hand at a miniature traction engine.
A choice was made, the drawings and castings sourced and work commenced.
A four inch scale boiler was obtained from a specialist manufacturer and with the help from many model engineers, who freely gave advice, a long slow project got underway.
Eventually the drawings were abandoned in favour of copies of the prototype locomotive and completion was achieved in November 2007. Thus ended my first attempt at model engineering."
