PLANS for the PRINCESS
Two members collaborated in designing and building a 7¼" Kerr Stuart 'Princess' narrow gauge which ran on the Campbeltown to Machrihanish light railway line from about 1900 to 1930. There are over 100 drawings which have been proven on CAD and are combined on to A3 sheets. The copyright for these drawings has been given to the Bristol SMEE.

These drawings are being offered for sale at a price of £40 which includes postage in the UK.
The two engines were built from the same drawings but each builder used his own ideas and the alternatives are shown on the drawings. The first picture shows the engine which was built using only one casting - the cylinders - but the second picture shows one built using numerous castings. They also have different boilers as different boiler makers were used.
They have been running for several seasons now and have proved very popular passenger hauling locomotives. The valve gear is inside Stephenson's launch link.
